“Let the children come to me.” 19:14
March 27, 2020
Dear Students,
We did not know that our school; usually full of life and organized chaos would now lay dormant. I can’t begin to tell you how I miss seeing your sleepy faces, some with smiles others with bed hair, your laughter, and yes; even your perfectly ill-timed anecdotes.
I want to reassure you that I am so proud of you, and that I recognize the hard work and dedication you have displayed throughout the year, most especially our first holy communion and confirmation students. At this time, we are working diligently to reschedule the pending sacraments. No matter what the rest of this year may bring, know that we remain connected as a parish family and united through our faith in God.
This past year we have illustrated the importance of reciting the Rosary as well as praying the Stations of the Cross. EWTN a catholic television station has provisions for the spiritual needs of our youth. For example, on Fridays at 4PM they televise The Way of the Cross for Kids and on Mondays they recite the Rosary for children. Another resource so that we remain connected to our faith is the internet, Bishop Robert Barron is an excellent teacher through his daily reflections and preaching. Just enter Bishop Robert Barron Word on Fire or the link can be found on the church’s homepage.
Finally, as we approach the end of this Lenten season and we begin to see the joy of Easter, let us take this opportunity to reconnect as a family. Maybe we can read a passage from the Bible every evening, or recite the Rosary, or simply have a conversation with God through prayer as a family.
This will be a school year that none of us will ever forget, but I know you are strong, smart and brave. You are loved, for you are “my kids.”
Serving you in Christ,
Mr. Albert
